I grew up in Southeast Louisiana, and around middle school my family moved to Billingsley, Alabama. (No worries. I didn't know where it was until I got there.) My dad was a Marine, so we moved around a lot. Moving to Billingsley was actually our final move as a family. Being country people at heart, my parents quickly bought land, horses, and a 4-wheeler. Life was pretty good.
I graduated nearly top of my class from Billingsley High, and I began college in 2002. I attended the Southern Baptist operated Judson College, the only all-women's college in Alabama. It was there I learned what it meant to seek God's face and to be "strong in the Lord." I have a passion for history, so I majored in said subject - only slightly against my parent's wishes. I graduated after three years. This school was incredibly important to my spiritual development, and I will be forever grateful to my Lord God for sending me there. If you'd like to see my alma mater, please visit their site www.judson.edu.
Two months after graduating, I served as a missionary in Southeast Asia for about four months. I saw and learned many things, and I even was blessed to see two people come to Christ. Thomas surprised me while I was there and asked me to marry him. We were married in 2006.
I am now in my final semester of graduate school at the University of New Orleans. I will graduate, God willing, this May with a Master's in History. I hope to use this degree to show how history is His-story, not ours.
